ISO 9001:2015
Certified

MASIC is certified by the internationally-recognized standard for quality control in manufacturing.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

Annual Customer Questionnaire

Annual feedback from clients provides insight into continuing to provide the best coating service possible, while finding ways to improve overall customer experience.

Products Shipped vs. Products Returned

Measured quarterly, shipped vs. returned as a ratio provides MASIC with a knowledge of production quality and QMS performance.

Annual ERM (Experience Rating Modifier) Rate

Safety KPI – an experience rating modifier is a multiplying factor that's assigned to the company by the state that they operate in and reflects its claim history.

Equipment Calibration & Maintenance

Calibration and scheduled maintenance are performed and logged on all critical measuring devices and process equipment.

Special Process Testing Using the Coupon System

Definition:

Destructive tests are performed on sacrificial coupons, ran in tandem alongside the customers parts order. The coupon is then put through multiple tests (outline below on this page) to ensure the coatings meet manufacturer quality standards.

Cerakote & Powder Coating Testing FAQ

Why is our coating flaking or peeling? Improper cleaning or surface prep prior to the coating process will cause adhesion issues such as flaking and peeling. Adhesion testing will ensure that manufacturers standards of adhesion are met.

Why is my coating soft? Soft coatings often indicate an incomplete curing process. Impact testing and pencil hardness gouge tests can determine if a coating has reached the manufacturers specifications.

How do I know my coating is the appropriate thickness? Manufacturers will recommend thickness parameters, and MASIC can test for this with electronic thickness gauges.

Will my coating be affected by fuel or other solvents? Different coatings have varying resistance to solvents and chemicals. MASIC can recommend coatings that match your parts needs.

Why Does MASIC Use Coupon Testing?

MASIC Industries takes pride in a commitment to quality and satisfying Customer requirements, achieved by deploying special process testing methods that check the integrity of the ceramic and powder coating.

Competitors may conduct rudimentary tests such as a visual inspection and checking the coating thickness, but that is not sufficient for MASIC's quality standards. MASIC takes it a step further by checking the actual characteristics of the coating using the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) guidelines, including:

  • Coating Hardness;

  • Flexibility;

  • Malleability;

  • Gloss;

  • Adhesion

  • MEK resistance
